Moon Dancer Refuge: Asteroid Fireworks

Asteroid Fireworks Series • Apocalyptic • Found Family.

The sky put on a show. Then the world turned to ash.

Krys Day was too tired to watch the asteroid fireworks. While millions gathered beneath the night sky to witness the once-in-a-lifetime event, the disabled Army K-9 veteran turned photographer fell asleep on her couch.

When she wakes five days later, the world she knew is gone.

A strange illness has swept through cities, towns, and neighborhoods, leaving behind silence, abandoned streets, and gray ash where people used to be. Krys survives, but survival means facing the losses around her, rescuing those she can, and making impossible choices before power, water, and order disappear completely.

With Molly, a grieving but stubborn seventy-year-old neighbor, and Toby, the young son of her closest friend, Krys sets out to find a safer place. Their only hope may be Moon Dancer, a remote desert ranch resort with solar power, well water, cabins, horses, and enough space to become something more than shelter.

But Krys is not the only survivor.

Children need protection. Dogs need handlers. Strangers need trust. Supplies must be gathered before the world rots or burns. And beyond the safety of Moon Dancer, dangerous people are beginning to learn that no one is coming to stop them.

Krys never meant to build a refuge.

She only meant to keep one more person alive.

Asteroid Fireworks: Moon Dancer Refuge is the first book in a post-apocalyptic survival series about found family, K-9 courage, ordinary people under impossible pressure, and the first fragile days of rebuilding after the world ends.

This is book 1 of a 3-book series. Book 2 = Moon Dancer Rising, and Book 3 = Long Road to Tucson

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Wow, government caught with pants down and didn’t think about all the possible outcomes, People will always look for others to take care of themselves. How many of us will actually be able to do so?
Characters are well developed and the story is great. I like that one missing character shows up near the end with his group (hint: book 3). 5 Stars for this Book 1.
