The Magic of the Redwoods
Pacific Coastal Redwoods
Some places stay with you long after you leave them.
For me, the California redwoods are one of those places.
There is something almost impossible to describe about standing beneath trees so tall and ancient that they make you feel both very small and deeply connected to something much larger than yourself. Sunlight through the branches, quiet trails, towering trunks, hidden spaces, and the feeling that the forest is holding stories older than we can imagine… all of it stayed with me.
That sense of wonder helped inspire The Girl in the Redwoods. The forest was not simply a setting. It became part of the story itself.
This collage brings back so much of what I loved — the enormous trees, the winding roads, the peaceful hush of the forest, the coastline, and those quiet moments when the light filters through the branches and everything feels a little magical.
So today I’d love to ask:
What place in nature has stayed with you the most?
Was it a forest, a park, a mountain trail, a beach, or one single tree that made you stop and take it all in?
And if you’ve visited the redwoods:
What part touched you most, or what place would you love to visit again?
I’d love to hear your memories.
