If the salary was the same, what job would you be doing right now and why?
I’m retired now and have no desire to go back into the workforce, so today my answer would be simple: I’d keep doing what I’m doing.
If you asked me during my working years, though, the answer would have been very different. Sometimes I wish I had stayed in the military long enough to retire instead of leaving at eleven years of service.
But if pay were exactly the same and I could choose any job, I think my dream would have been diving for shipwrecks in the Caribbean. I’ve always loved the ocean, and I would have loved living near it, studying it, and spending much more time beneath the surface.
And if I could dive for lobster and bring dinner home afterward? Even better.
