What’s the Best Online Course You’ve Ever Taken?
I’ve taken quite a few online courses over the years, and the most useful one might surprise you.
Way, way back, I took an accounting course. I was good at it, but I found it boring. I couldn’t imagine doing it all day, every day! Still, it taught me something valuable: accounting wasn’t the career for me. Sometimes learning what you don’t want to do is just as helpful as discovering what you love.
Since retiring, I’ve taken several courses through the local community college. A couple focused on using Photoshop Elements to edit my photographs, and three covered writing and marketing. Those were fun and interesting, especially because I could work at my own pace.
I’m not sure whether I’ll take more, but I do wish more colleges offered senior discounts for both online and on-campus classes. Retirement gives us time to explore new interests, even if our budgets don’t always cooperate!
Have you taken a course that sparked a new interest or helped you change direction?
